It is a who’s who inside the top 10 heading into the final day of action at the 2024 WM Phoenix Open as Round 3 was suspended Saturday evening due to darkness. Nick Taylor takes a one-stroke lead at 13 under into Sunday where he will need to complete 30 holes between his third and final rounds alongside his closest pursuers Sahith Theegala and Andrew Novak.
The final threesome will have plenty to say in this tournament, but those slightly ahead on the golf course may ultimately have the strongest opinions. Jordan Spieth raced through the finish line of his second round with a back-nine 30 to vault into contention. Back-to-back birdies in the setting sun of his third round pushed him even closer to the top as he sits at 10 under.
Cameron Young looks keen on claiming his first victory from 9 under, but he will have to contend not only with Taylor but the cluster of champions just one shot behind. Major champions Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark and Scottie Scheffler are all at 8 under and looking to accomplish a unique feat of their own. Thomas hopes for his first win since 2022, Clark looks for wins in back-to-back weeks and Scheffler looks to pull off the rare three-peat at this tournament.
