Race 1. (12:20) Midway (Bm72) 1100m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

1 Dalaalaat (Bet Now: $5.00) is weather dependent. He is a dry track or bust type horse. He found firmer footing last time in a Midway at Rosehill and would have been a tragedy beaten had he not got clear but he did get the splits and dashed late to win impressively. Tick over trial was good, he’ll appreciate a fast run 1100m and with luck in running, he just about takes this out.

Danger

3 Mabel (Bet Now: $8.00) is hard to beat for Tracey Bartley. Typical J Collett ride saw the mare win a fortnight back in the Midway here, sitting back near last and sliced the way through the field to drive hard late and finish best, with no doubt the ride winning the race. Back up in trip should be fine and while she can get back in the run, she’ll be launching late and can win again.

Long Shot

11 Bartoselli (Bet Now: $7.00) should be given another chance. He resumed in the Midway won by Mabel two weeks back and just forgive/forget he went around. He was five wide the trip and rightfully weakened, finishing down the track behind the Bartley runner. If he can get a more economical run in transit, I think he’ll run a much improved race and can certainly take this out.

Race 2. (12:55) Tab Highway Hcp (C2) 1000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Mogo Magic (Bet Now: $2.00) looks a speed demon and is a 1000m horse. 1000m horse in a 1000m race = recipe for success. Scott Collings trained gelding that resumes after a two run Spring prep, where he won both times and each start, he spanked his rivals, running time. The knock is the form around him is suspect but his recent trial was sharp, he’ll jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down.

Danger

11 Sumptuary (Bet Now: $8.00) commands respect. Paul Messara trained filly that resumes, having not raced since the debut win at Muswellbrook over 1000m when near the speed throughout before being clicked up late by Dillon and put them away late to win nicely, running good late splits in the process. Sharp trial win last week against seasoned campaigners and stable rarely misfires when contesting Highway races.

Long Shot

13 Lanks (Bet Now: $61.00) is starting to put it together. Broke the long run of outs when a maiden winner on Walcha Cup Day before going to Tuncurry where he was on speed throughout and tried his guts out but couldn’t quite get there when second to Bottom Bar. He has a good racing style, he’s a 1000m horse, hard fit, in form…think he is one for multiples.

Race 3. (13:30) Skyline Stks 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

9 Diabelli (Bet Now: $19.00) is one of two early Slipper bets for me. He and Cylinder are the two I like early. Cylinder did the right thing last Saturday and hopefully this guy can do something similar. He had a two run Spring prep, being somewhat unlucky on debut on Cup Day at Flemington before going to Rosehill where he was good from off the speed when third to Disneck. Just one soft trial to get ready but once balanced up, he moved well, and this stable are starting to hum with their juveniles.

Danger

4 Ganbare (Bet Now: $7.00) has 1400m/1600m written all over him. He is a colt that I have plenty of time and he will eat up 1200m here. He got a mile out of his ground in the Millennium and despite never being a threat, he was very good late in the piece. He sat on speed to win on debut but he really reacted when ridden cold last time. Interesting to see how they ride him but no doubt he’s hard to beat.

Long Shot

1 Rush Hour (Bet Now: $15.00) is a colt that should be respected. Nathan Doyle trained juvenile that has been kept on ice since winning The Debut on Magic Millions Day at the Gold Coast where he finished best in horrendous conditions. Freshened up with the Slipper in mind and his trial last week on the Beaumont track at Newcastle was pretty good. Likely sits off the speed but will be strong late.

Race 4. (14:05) Fitzgerald Jenkins (Bm88) 2000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

7 Glory Daze (Bet Now: $3.10) should love the rise to 2000m for Team McEvoy. Did more than enough at the Australian debut at Warrnambool before going to 1700m at Sandown where he tracked up with real purpose nearer the inside, got splits halfway down the straight and launched late to finish best. He looks a progressive stayer that should eat up the rise in trip and is one of the hardest to beat.

Danger

Fitter and up in trip are two big ticks for 9 Caboche (Bet Now: $17.00). Chris Waller trained gelding that resumed in the Ascension race from a fortnight back here and I thought he did more than enough, looming for a few strides but condition just gave way late. Better for the run under the belt, has run well second up previously and finds a winnable race if he can produce somewhere near his best.

Long Shot

4 First In Line (Bet Now: $31.00) is hard fit and racing well for Matty Smith. Four weeks between runs since winning over 2400m at the Sunny Coast where it turned into a proper staying contest thanks to Hostage Of War and he ended up being the strongest stayer, with the initiative from KWT winning the race. There is more quality to this line up but he is the proven stayer.

Race 5. (14:40) Guy Walter Proven T’bred Stks 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Mirra Vision (Bet Now: $3.60) looks hard to beat. Team Snowden trained mare that resumes, having not raced since November 26 when a game second in the Festival Stakes, following a second in the Empire Rose to Icebath, which clearly reads well for a race like this. Just one trial to get ready but gee she looked sharp the way she trucked between runners. 1400m fresh signals intent, she goes well fresh…happy to be in her corner.

Danger

3 Hope In Your Heart (Bet Now: $4.50) is a ripping mare for Kerry Parker that resumes. She really came of age in the Spring, going on to be a multiple Stakes winner and running fourth in a red hot Golden Eagle, the ending the prep with a second in The Gong. She has looked strong in a couple of trials and while she has eyes on the Coolmore/Queen Of The Turf, no doubt she’ll be strong late.

Long Shot

1 Mustang Valley (Bet Now: $10.00) is a quality Kiwi mare that commands respect with her best. She resumed at Group l level back home in New Zealand at Te Rapa where she lost the rider behind Imperatriz. She’s a Group l winner and draws gate one with Hugh Bowman steering, so she has a bit in her corner to run a much improved race.

Race 6. (15:20) Sweet Embrace Stks 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

1 Skirt The Law (Bet Now: $2.10) could be the best juvenile seen this season. Magic Millions winner who makes her awaited debut in Sydney off the back of her romp at the Gold Coast, which has been one of the more dominant wins by a 2YO this season. Trialled up very well, but she was up against unraced types, so hard to get a real guide, but she seemed in good order and stable wouldn’t come this way if they didn’t think she’d measure up.

Danger

3 Saltaire (Bet Now: $15.00) looks a filly with talent for John O’Shea. She resumed a fortnight back in the Inglis Millennium and I thought didn’t do a bad job from the back, beaten just under three lengths by Learning To Fly. Like her up to 1200m and back to her own sex, and with the run under the belt, she appeals as one of the key threats in a winnable race.

Long Shot

9 Portorosa (Bet Now: $34.00) is a filly I have time for. She resumed three weeks ago in the Lonhro Plate where she got back in a slowly run race and just lacked the change up speed to match it with them late but was good to the line when third to Madeira Sunrise. Better for the run under the belt and with a more genuine tempo, she can take this out for sure.

Race 7. (16:00) Surround Stakes 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

It’s hard to get away from 1 In Secret (Bet Now: $2.25). High class filly for James Cummings that resumed in the Light Fingers two weeks ago where Nash rode her with such confidence and only pushed the button very late, driving hard between runners to win impressively. Fitter, up to 1400m, class, runs on the board…it’s hard seeing anything other than a win for this star filly.

Danger

8 Sunshine In Paris (Bet Now: $11.00) is a filly I have plenty of time for. On face value, Maloney rode her a treat in the Light Fingers. But I actually think she’s a much better filly when ridden cold and saved for one run. He rode her to win last time and it all but worked, just getting nabbed by In Secret. I think 1400m is fine, provided they ride her with a sit, and has the change up speed to be dangerous.

Long Shot

11 Ruthless Dame (Bet Now: $12.00) could have stayed in Melbourne but the stable have had their eyes on this race for some time and she does command respect. She resumed in the Manfred at Sandown on Australia Day and was very good late in the piece behind Jacquinot. Tick over trial last week at Rosehill was good and for mine, she looks like she will eat up 1400m at Randwick. Right in the mix.

Race 8. (16:40) Chipping Norton Stakes 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

1 Anamoe (Bet Now: $1.60) just picks himself here. Happy to be locked in at $2.15 after the Apollo win because it was just arrogant the way he put them away. I do find it funny when people point out that horses zoom past him through the line. He’s a bludger. The best bludger in the business. He does what is required and switches off. Fitter, up to the mile…it’ll be a case of good luck beating him.

Danger

2 Mo’Unga (Bet Now: $10.00) looks to me as if he’s a 2000m+ horse so like him up to the mile with the run under the belt. He resumed in the Apollo when wide throughout and although one of the first off the bit, he found the line pretty well late in the piece behind Anamoe. I doubt he turns the tables on Anamoe but should run well nonetheless, hopefully with an eye towards the Ranvet/Tancred.

Long Shot

3 Knight’s Order (Bet Now: $35.00) can pull out a decent run fresh and has the right racing pattern to give himself every chance. He resumes for GaiBott, having not raced since the Melbourne Cup when down the track in what was a proper staying contest. First trial was pretty good I thought before trialling up just fair last week. But he is a tough nut, a race day horse and will give his all.

Race 9. (17:20) Liverpool City Cup 1300m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

The weather forecast will determine how strong the winning claims of 5 Quantico (Bet Now: $41.00) are. There is a forecast for significant rain, which he hates. He found a dry deck two weeks ago in the Southern Cross and the end result was a strong win, especially given that was his first run in 11 months, with significant improvement to come. Good4 or better, he wins. If the track is Soft, I’d treat him as a scratching.

Danger

7 Gravina (Bet Now: $4.40) is the map horse and should improve for the first up run, which came in the Southern Cross and he found the line pretty well late nearer the inside when a narrow third to Quantico. He saves his best for Randwick and with rain earlier this week, the track won’t be rock hard, which is ideal for him, and J Mac sticks. Plenty going for him.

Long Shot

1 Profondo… (Bet Now: $5.50) can he be trusted? He was a major flop in the Spring, but I will say he was really poorly placed. They tried to get him to be a top class Group l horse but there is enough evidence to suggest he is not that. This looks more his level and gee I was taken by the trial behind Artorius. If he runs up to that trial here, gee I think he’ll run a positive race.

Race 10. (17:55) Dynamic Syndications (Bm88) 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

16 Sonora (Bet Now: $2.70) has to be one of the hardest to beat. Just a win I thought two back at Sandown before going to Randwick a few weeks ago where she was near what looked a genuine speed but gee she trucked in the run under Avdulla. Just a matter of pushing the button and once he did, away she went and gee she was dominant in the run to the line. If she runs up to that here, she measures up.

Danger

1 Never Talk (Bet Now: $9.00) is a quality mare for Kris Lees that resumes. This mare did a really good job in the Spring without winning, running super races at blacktype level on a couple of occasions, including at this track/distance in The Nivison. She is a good fresh horse, trialled up super in readiness for the return and overall, this race is thin compared to what she raced against last prep.

Long Shot

12 Nicci’s Fling (Bet Now: $26.00) is flying and should be around the mark at a likely decent price. She went back to the Friday nights at Canterbury last time for the confidence boost and that she got, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive display. Prior form, albeit in easier races than this, was more than sound, and in a fast run race, I think she will be one of the strongest late.
