Cole Palmer fitness boost; Nicolas Jackson’s Chelsea fate decided; Tammy Abraham return?

Thankfully Chelsea have received a much-needed fitness boost as star attacker Cole Palmer trains again. The Pride of London also cover Nicolas Jackson’s supposed fate at Stamford Bridge being decided by the manager and owners. And, last but by no means least, will former Blue Tammy Abraham return to west London? PoL explain and provide views on important Blues news, as always.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has enjoyed some decent moments in his first Premier League season. He’s even on the trail of a young Didier Drogba’s Blues record for the early stage of the latter’s career at the Bridge. Nevertheless, Jackson’s maiden campaign on Fulham Road can also definitely be described as uneven. To say the least.

Essentially the inconsistencies are to be expected from a fairly fresh centreforward plying trade in the world’s toughest division. Just look at the time and patience being afforded to a great prospect but the most inconsistent of all forwards in the English top-flight: Darwin Nunez at Liverpool. So Jackson may therefore be given further time and space to prove himself in the EPL for CFC.

But, then again, the main role up front at Chels’ was maintained by legendary and successful No.9s such as Drogba and the infamous and deadly Diego Costa. That is in modern times, there were some exceptional strikers at Chelsea in the past as well.

After a good showing for a while, Jackson has struggled of late once again. Mediocre showings, in spite of promise, creates constant speculation for EPL players. The Senegal international is no exception there. Apparently Mauricio Pochettino and the ownership plan to keep the former Villarreal man. However, he will apparently be an understudy to a marquee centreforward to be signed this offseason.

First of all, there is the very impressive yet injury-prone Christopher Nkunku to welcome back. Although, the Frenchman has played as a second striker more regularly in his career. Then there are a few on the wishlist. Victor Osimhen and ex-CFC star Tammy Abraham are two examples.

There hasn’t been much positive news for Blues supporters for a couple of years now. Though this update is sure to cheer up the fan base: Cole Palmer should be available for the division run-in. The England-capped Blue is back at club training prior to the match against Aston Villa this coming weekend.
