Four million starving children in the United Kingdom – Prensa Latina



The publication cites the independent analytical center Food Foundation whose data also reveals that in January one out of five British families reported that they skipped meals, went hungry or did not eat for a full day.

That figure represents a 12 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the center’s estimate, some 800,000 infants and children living in poverty are not entitled to free school meals.

To have access to this service, their families must have an annual income of less than 8,900 dollars.
