MORE JISOO: London fashion label Self-Portrait Wednesday released its prefall campaign starring Jisoo from the popular K-pop group Blackpink.

Having graced the brand’s spring 2024 campaign, the South Korean idol posed for the brand in a recording studio in Seoul.

Captured by Yoon Jiyong, Jisoo donned a diverse range of looks from Self-portrait’s pre-fall collection – mini dresses in taffeta, soft denim and self-portrait’s iconic Guipure lace, a knit two-piece set, and evening numbers in taffeta in red and black – each of them handpicked by Jisoo on set to showcase the versatility of her chameleonic character and style.

Han Chong, founder and creative director of Self-Portrait said: “What I have come to discover through working with Jisoo is that she is a real chameleon and loves to experiment with her wardrobe.”

“We decided to shoot her in a recording studio – a place where she feels at home and comes to life – to capture her at her most authentic self. Her selection of off duty denim and relaxed twinset knits to fun partywear and evening gowns shows the full spectrum of her own personal style and felt like a diary of a pop star,” he added.

To accompany the launch of the campaign, the brand will host a series of installations and pop-ups, bringing the campaign setting to life in Seoul and London.

The pop-up in London will recreate the backdrop of the recording studio and will house the latest collection including pieces selected by Jisoo for the campaign.

The installation in Seoul will display the campaign series in giant formats.

The brand has been dressing Jisoo on- and off-stage since 2017. Chong said the singer wore his designs when she released her solo album, “ME,” last year.

In an earlier interview with WWD, Chong said the brand has a history of using famous actresses and models in its campaigns, but this is the first time he’s picked a musician.

Musicians, he added, “have always been a part of the Self-Portrait story, and this was a natural progression. I also have a very diverse audience, and Jisoo is inspiring to my customers.”

Self-Portrait is the first contemporary fashion labelJisoo has worked with, and it’s also the first project since she launched her own agency, Blissoo, according to Chong.

Jisoo is also a Dior ambassador, appears in Cartier’s Trinity Centenary Campaign, and is the face of Alo Yoga’s spring 2024 collection.
