Virat Kohli is still to leave for the USA for the T20 World Cup 2024 but the Indian cricketer is expected to join the squad ahead of the warm-up match against Bangladesh.

While the first batch of Team India players who will be taking part in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 left for New York on Saturday, Virat Kohli is still to leave for the USA. The star batter, however, will not be missing India’s only warm-up match against Bangladesh on 1 June. As per a news report in cricketnext, Kohli will link up with the India squad before the warm-up match.

“He will reach New York before the warm-up vs Bangladesh on June 1. Whether he plays or not in the warm-up will be management’s call – whether they feel there is enough gap between him landing and the warm-up fixture,” a source close to developments told cricketnext.

Captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were among the players
who left for the Americas on Saturday
. They reached New York on Sunday.

On Monday, Sanju Samson and Avesh Khan also took a flight to New York.

It has also been reported that Hardik Pandya who was holidaying in London after Mumbai Indians were knocked out from IPL 2024 will join the team directly from England.

Team India will be staying at a five-star hotel near the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Their first World Cup match is against Ireland on 5 June.
