London hotel launches shockingly expensive cocktail

s Mayfair is known for being an affluent part of the city, with an array of luxurious restaurants, bars and hotels. Now one hotel in the high-end postcode has elevated its bar menu even further with the introduction of an eye-wateringly expensive .

Revery bar at London Hilton Park Lane has added Revery’s Maven of Mayfair to the cocktail menu, an overtly opulent drink that will set customers back a whopping £220 per glass.

The cocktail is served in a Baccarat crystal flute, which the team says is the only glass “worthy” of the high-end ingredients.

“Designed to be enjoyed within the comfortable luxe of Revery’s red and warmly lit décor, the Maven of Mayfair features an elite blend of Clase Azul with the rich and complex Grand Marnier,” said a spokesperson for the bar.

“Lillet Rose adds a touch of floral elegance, while Italicus infuses a subtle hint of citrus and botanicals. The Maven of Mayfair then sparingly incorporates the rare and exquisite Dom Perignon Rose, lending a velvety effervescence to the experience.”

And if that isn’t enough, the final touch comes in the form of edible gold, which twinkles and glints in the light.

According to Revery, The Maven of Mayfair is “designed for those who appreciate the finest things in life.”

The drink was designed to compliment the aesthetic of the bar, which merges contemporary luxury with the glamour of the 1960s. Revery was designed by Avroko as part of a multi-million-pound refurbishment.

You can expect dark blush, terracotta and plush red seating, with a curved bar area at the heart of the space. A glass sculpture hangs overhead, while a backlit wall shows off the array of spirits on offer.

Along with the £220 Maven of Mayfair, the bar also serves up a selection of cocktails, including a range of Martinis. The Revery Martini is infused with roses, fillet blanc, and peach bitter, and costs £17 a glass.

As well as drinks, visitors can also indulge in a range of delicious sweet treats including the Giant Croissant. Only two of these are made exclusively each day, so it is first come first served. The Giant Croissant will set you back £29. The Revery also has a breakfast and all-day dining menu.
