London: World AIDS Day Mass | ICN
The annual World AIDS Mass will take place at 6pm on Tuesday, 26 November, at Farm Street Jesuit Church, 114 Mount Street, Mayfair, London W1K 3AH. Organised by LGBT+ Catholics Westminster with Positive Faith & Catholics for AIDS Prevention & Support, the theme of the celebration is: Journeying Together for an HIV+ Free World.
Father Brendan Callaghan SJ will preside and preach. The music group will gather at 5.30pm for a brief music practice.
This is the only public faith-related, HIV / AIDS event now taking place in Central London. The Mass will be followed by a Reception in the Arrupe Hall, 114 Mount Street entrance. All are welcome.
An HIV+ & Faith information display will be mounted in one of the church’s side-chapels from 23 November- 2 December 2024.
World AIDS Day, promoted by the United Nations, falls on Sunday 1 December 2024.
This comes at a time when the London Assembly announces an 11% increase in HIV+ infection since 2022.
