As of early Tuesday morning, the NFL odds list the Lions as -7½ point favorites at home, while the Packers are +285 to pull off a holiday miracle.

Looking at the NFL betting lines for this game, it’s hard to break the habit of thinking about the Packers as the “better” team in this matchup. But that doesn’t mean the Packers are a lost cause. Despite the 4-6 record, we can’t ignore that two of those wins came in the previous two weeks, as the Packers won their second-straight upset on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.

On the other hand, the Packers are 1-2 ATS against the NFL North this year, with the undergoing 1-2 in those games if you plan to bet online the total. Another negative trend for the Packers is that they’ve failed to cover three straight road games.

Looking back on Thanksgiving Day games over the past six years, the Lions don’t have a lot to give thanks for. They have struggled mightily in these spots and are 0-6 straight up and 3-3 against the spread since 2017.
