Ruben Amorim heading to London amid West Ham links

West Ham United are in talks to appoint Ruben Amorim as head coach should David Moyes leave the club, that’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Moyes is out of contract in the summer and although the club are eighth in the Premier League, there’s been no decision on the Scot’s future, despite a new contract offer on the table.

This also comes after it was reported earlier in the month that Amorim has a three-year contract offer to succeed Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool. Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda reported that positive talks were ongoing between the clubs with financial terms almost agreed, but that appears to have quietened down in recent weeks.

CNN Portugal reported that Amorim left for London in a private jet put on by West Ham’s owners, and was also accompanied by businessman Raul Costa.

As reported earlier in the month via Fabrizio Romano, there is a verbal agreement in place between Amorim and Sporting CP that “he can leave for a fee of €10m if a big club makes a proposal, though his official release clause is €30m for other Portuguese clubs and €20m for other leagues.” (h/t: F365).
