Ruby told his Paddy Power blog followers – “I was impressed with him at Christmas when he beat Ashdale Bob. I think that was a strong race and he was going to win from a long way out. He’s an eight-year-old, there’s a bit of strength about him now, he was disappointing in the race last year, but I think they’re riding him a little differently.”

Home By The Lee is also a horse has also been ridden wide more often in his races and even though this doesn’t save ground it does mean he can stay out of trouble.

If similar tactics are used at Cheltenham, this could also be a plus up the big wide straight – meaning Home By The Lee will have an uninterrupted charge to the line.
