Temperatures set to hit 25C

Forecasters have said that temperatures are to hit 25C this weekend and will continue to climb in England and Wales during the week.

This weekend could see the hottest days of the years and in Northern Ireland and Scotland the mercury will continue to rise.

Met Office spokesperson Grahame Madge said that there will be patches of high pressure which will “likely to cause periods of prolonged rainfall” in norther Scotland and in parts of Northern Ireland.

Despite rainy weather the mercury will rise to the high teens throughout the week, however the warm weather will not last for long as by next week temperatures will fall.
