Temperatures set to hit highs of 26C

Finally, some joyous news to read. The Met Office has said that the mercury is set to hit highs of 26C today and it will remain warm over the next few days.

On Thursday high pressure will dominate bringing temperatures of 24C today and on Saturday the mercury will reach 26C in the south.

UV levels will rise over the next few days and will reach moderate to high across the UK and it will be remain sunny.

Next week the weather will take a turn to a more unsettled pattern and there will be rain and showers moving in from the West.

Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wisson said, “Many places will start fine and warm on Sunday, though it is likely to become cloudier from the west or southwest during the day.

“This will be accompanied by scattered showers, which could be heavy with thunder.

“On Monday we’re likely to see more widespread and longer-lived spells of rain, some of which will be heavy and thundery.

“This will also lead to a much cooler feel to the day.”
