Travelodge Unveils 600th Hotel at London Oval Cricket Ground


Travelodge, has opened its 600th hotel, located at the London Oval Cricket Ground. The occasion was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Travelodge Chairman, Martin Robinson, CEO Jo Boydell, former England Cricket Captain and Surrey County Cricket Club Director, Alec Stewart OBE, alongside Surrey County Cricket Club CEO, Steve Elworthy.

The newly launched Travelodge offers 95 rooms, developed in collaboration with Surrey County Cricket Club. Catering to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, the hotel enjoys a location just a minute’s walk from Oval Underground Station. This opening not only signifies Travelodge’s 600th property but also its 81st establishment in London, contributing to the creation of over 30 job opportunities.

Concerning the amenities London Oval Cricket Ground Travelodge hotel, features a revamped reception area, next-generation rooms, and the introduction of the new restaurant concept, 85 Bar Cafe.

Sustainability is a key focus in the hotel’s design, evident in its BREEAM Excellent rating and Energy Performance Certificate rating of A, while there are many eco-friendly initiatives, including Air Source Heat Pumps, EV car charging stations, roof-mounted solar PVs, and green roofs.

This opening marks Travelodge’s first new property launch in the UK this year. Additionally, the chain has ongoing developments in Rotherham, Colchester, Bristol, and three other locations in London. Travelodge has also announced plans to commence construction on a new hotel in Stratford, London, later this year.
