A person who owns a home in northeast London found a woman they didn’t know sleeping in the basement when they got home early Sunday, London police say.

The homeowner found some of their belongings had been moved when they returned to their home near Fanshawe Park Road East and Cedarhollow Boulevard at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, London police said Tuesday.

The homeowner began looking around the house and found an unknown woman sleeping in the basement. The owner called 9-1-1 to report the break-in, police said.

Officers arrived and arrested the woman inside the home, police said. No injuries were reported.

A 48-year-old London woman is charged with breaking and entering with intent, police said.

Two people injured in east end crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in London’s east end Tuesday morning, London fire officials said.

Emergency crews responded to a crash on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Gore Road shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday, the London fire department said in a post on X.

Two people were taken to hospital by paramedics, fire officials said. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

The northbound lanes of Veterans Memorial Parkway at Gore Road were blocked for the crash investigation.

Firefighters are asking people to avoid the area.

Woman facing weapons charge after disturbance

A 33-year-old Londoner is facing a weapon charge after a woman was seen banging on the doors of a south London hotel while holding what appeared to be a gun, London police said.

Police were called by a member of the public who was awakened by a disturbance at a hotel on Wellington Road south of Commissioners Road on Friday, London police said Tuesday.

The caller saw a woman holding what look like a gun while banging on the doors of the hotel, before seeing her get into a vehicle, police said.

The witness provided a description of the woman and the vehicle to police. Officers found the female suspect sitting in a vehicle parked in the lot, police said.

Police searched the vehicle and found a BB style pellet handgun beside the driver’s seat, police said.

A 33-year-old woman has been charged with a single count of possessing a weapon, police said.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on June 11 in relation to the charge.

Three-vehicle crash in north London

Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the city’s north end Tuesday morning, London fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to a three-vehicle collision at Adelaide Street North and Sunningdale Road at about 8:20 a.m., the fire department said in a post on X.

The southbound lanes of Adelaide Street were blocked following the collision, fire officials said on social media, as paramedics assessed people who were travelling in the vehicles that collided.

The London fire department is asking motorists to avoid the area.
